Re-homing a horse or pet isn't the problem. It's people who are completely clueless as to what kind of horse they even have that is dangerous. It's obvious by the wording in the ad alone that the people don't know what they're doing, which also isn't a problem in it's own right, if they are under the guidance of a professional. But it's situations like this where someone will take in a "male" horse and say "Oh, I didn't know that it could make a baby" and then you end up with 3 or 4 more horses that need re-homed! Chances are, if they are looking for a free horse, they can't afford the purchase price (of even a few hundred dollars), which leans toward the thought that they can't afford regular upkeep of a horse. Let's face it, we all know that horses are expensive! A good friend of mine took in a "free" horse (because her husband's cousin was giving it away). After tearing down the stall door, running through the fence, and getting attacked by the neighbor's dog, that "free" horse cost her over $1k in vet bills!
